Calculator: The Game started as a simple math game for a door lock puzzle when we were iterating on a potential Aliens movie game pitch. The Aliens game never game to be, but the door lock number puzzle really struck a chord with me. It was simple, you had a couple buttons, and you had to try to make a total sum out of the buttons. If you could do it, then you could unlock the door.

At some point, it occurred to me to turn it into a calculator and make all the puzzles based on completely out of the box functions. This way the math wasn’t always harder each level, instead, you unlocked new functions that would manipulate numbers in interesting and fun ways.

Functions like delete a number, convert to letters, reverse the total, and even portals (yes, portals) would change this from a math game, to a logic game starring numbers.

Add in an adorable mascot (Clicky) and a working solar panel in the corner and boom, you have a little game many people just can not put down.

Calculator: The Game and it’s sequel became long time hits on mobile garnering a ton of downloads (10 million) and even more fans.
