Mark wanted to build a game that would be fun and also feature actual science, so it didn’t require rocket science to know that a rocket building game on Roblox was exactly what we needed to make.

Mark’s experience included:

• An exact replica of the actual CrunchLabs location where Mark makes all his wild inventions and records all his YouTube videos.

• Unlockable CrunchLab BuildBoxes that can be used to build stronger ships

• 9 different planets for players to land on and mine for resources including a marshmallow planet and a rollercoaster world.

• 25 levels of unlockable ship parts, from mud blocks to elephant toothpaste thrusters.

• A final boss area where players use Mark’s Disc Launcher to defeat Fat Tail and rescue his squirrel friends.

But the most exciting part of the design was creating an actual working engine that would apply light physics to players rocket ships. So instead of them being able to add any part they wanted, players would have to balance the weight of the ship against the amount of thrust, fuel, and wing thrusters, so the ship was fast, maneuverable, and above all else, sturdy!

Within the first weekend, Build a Rocket VS Mark Rober received high praise and strong player engagement as the experience garnered over 1 million visits over the first two days of it’s launch, along with a 95% rating on Roblox.
